did gertrude participated in the kings dead?

I do not believe she participated on the king (by the time his husband) dead, because she was living large as a queen. what i think happend was that after the king dead she got scared of her future because she was not going to be queen anymore so she decided to keep it in the family and become wife of the kings brother after a month of his husband murder.
